Cremation & Water Cremation
Cremation has become increasingly popular in recent years.
We offer traditional and water cremation services.
Traditional Cremation
Tiare’s cremation services honour your loved one in a meaningful and dignified manner.
Should you choose a cremation service, you are carrying on a tradition dating back at least 17,000 years and practised by many cultures throughout history. In many parts of the world, cremation is the most common way to farewell a loved one. T
Why Choose Cremation?
To keep the ashes of your loved one close
To scatter the ashes of your loved one at a place that holds meaning
To reduce the cost and long-term maintenance related to burial
For cultural, religious or spiritual reasons or in keeping with family tradition
To lessen environmental impact and avoid leaving embalming fluids and non-biodegradable material in the ground
Tiare offers a range of cremation options including Full-Service Cremation and Direct Cremation.
Full-service cremation is similar to a traditional funeral service, it includes a viewing and a ceremony followed by cremation. It is generally chosen by those who want to retain aspects of a traditional service but who would prefer not to be buried.
Cremation with Memorial offers the chance to have a memorial service without the viewing ceremony. Cremation follows the memorial with family and friends welcome to attend the crematorium.
Direct cremation is chosen by those who do not want any kind of service. Your loved one is taken directly to the crematorium. Direct cremation is cost-effective and offers a simple no-fuss farewell.
Whatever your choice, we’re here to help guide and assist you.
Water Cremation
Tiare is honoured to be able to provide unique services to our community!
One of the services we can provide is water cremation also known as aquamation. Aquamation is a gentle process that uses water instead of fire to return our bodies to Mother Nature.
The scientific name for this process is Alkaline Hydrolysis. A combination of gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity is used to accelerate the breakdown of the body, the same process that occurs when we are laid to rest in the soil but at a faster rate.
With Aquamation, there are no direct emissions of harmful greenhouse gases or mercury to the atmosphere. This process does not burn any fossil fuels. It is extremely energy efficient with studies showing a water cremation uses 90% less energy compared to flame cremation and creates 1/10th of the carbon footprint. Aquamation is an environmentally sustainable alternative to traditional fire cremation or burial.
Who Is Water Cremation For?
People who are looking for a more eco-friendly version of traditional cremation
People who are concerned about the potentially harmful emissions of traditional cremation
People who don’t find traditional cremation appealing for personal, religious or cultural reasons, and are looking for a softer alternative
We offer full-service funerals with water cremation as well as direct water cremation.
