Pre-Paid Funerals

Pre-paid funerals offer security and peace of mind whilst relieving the pressure and strain on loved ones during a period of immense grief and sadness. Planning, allows you to decide how you would like your farewell to unfold.

Advance Care Directive/Advance Health Care Plan

An Advance Care Directive allows you to plan and communicate your wishes concerning end-of-life care. It gives you control over what happens to you in the event of a sudden or terminal illness. The links below will lead you to information for your state:

Enduring Guardianship

An Enduring Guardian is someone you appoint to make lifestyle and health decisions on your behalf when you do not have the capacity to make them for yourself. You decide the areas or ‘functions’ that you wish to give to your Enduring Guardian.

They may include making decisions such as where you live, what services are provided to you at home, and what medical treatment you receive. You can revoke the appointment and make another appointment at any time, provided you still can make such decisions.

Queensland’s guardianship system has been reformed, including changes to guardianship laws. Information on Queensland’s guardianship structure can be found here.

Making a Will

Making a will can seem a daunting and perhaps depressing task as it means facing your own mortality. However, making a will ensures that when you die, your estate will be distributed according to your wishes. You can make a will via your solicitor, or you can access information via state government websites linked below.
